Haiku 2000 Haiku: A short Japanese poem written in 3 parts, usually with 17 syllables. Elegant in its simplicity, its beauty lies in its quality, not its quantity. The word came to mind when I witnessed this sunrise across the hills of Estate Zootenvaal in St. John. As the sun broke over the horizon, a few moments of exquisite beauty appeared before me then ended almost as quickly as it appeared .it seemed only 17 syllables long. |
